Emerging treatment approaches for adolescent anorexia nervosa & Atypical anorexia nervosa are taking an integrative stance, blending a flexible family approach to re-feeding with individualised psychological treatment for the adolescent. Date: 3-4 November, 2025 (Monday/Tuesday)
Location: Nurture Psychology, Parnell AKL
Facilitator: Dr Marion Roberts, Clinical Psychologist
Cost: $600 + GST (snacks included)

CBT-E is one of the leading evidence based treatments for eating disorders, with particularly strong evidence for those with bulimia nervosa presentations. Read more about CBT-E here.

This 2-day training is for registered psychological therapists (e.g. psychologists, psychotherapists, mental health trained allied health professionals - see ANZAED practice & training standards for mental health professionals) who have a desire to work within a clear evidence-based treatment framework with adult & young adult clients with binge eating & purging.

Teaching will include viewing therapy examples of behavioural & cognitive interventions, case based discussions, real client work examples, and the opportunity to practice skills in pairs. While training is focussed on delivery of CBT-E for adult clients with bulimia nervosa, augmentations of the model (working with adolescents, working with binge eating disorder & anorexia nervosa) will be briefly outlined in the final afternoon of training. Paper copies of client handouts and therapy exercises are provided.
